Zenith Airbnb House, Kahibah NSW

On a busy corner of a Newcastle suburb established by older cottages and a small main street, an airbnb project was imagined as a turnkey escape that travelers could seek out for a variety leisure activities. Celebrations could be had with ample bedroom rooms and generously-sized furnishings, large entertaining areas spilling out to a central courtyard; or getaways for a weekend surf to the much locally loved, Dudley and Redhead Beaches, both within a five minutes’ drive. The feeling of retreat was created by crisp coastal finishes and interior details that allow both daylight and privacy control.
The former building footprint, roofline and internal stud framing were carefully retained but gutted to reconfigure the bedrooms, bathrooms and enlarge the kitchen, dining and living area with built-in breakfast nook. This new living area was opened up with raked ceilings and large windows to take advantage of the north orientation. A new double garage, studio and separate laundry room is situated at the rear to provide guests a separate laneway arrival. Completed in December 2023.
